Overview

The system uses AutoScore, a program written by Tim Wisseman specifically for AutoTroll. Player ranking points are at the core of the system.

AutoScore calculates the military score for each race to determine the ranking points for the players. There are two types of ranks: Total Ranking Points and Active Ranking Points.

Total Ranking Points accumulates a players points over time - it includes completed games and active games.

Active Ranking Points are calculated from all games (that use autoscore) that are not completed and still running.

The difference between Active and Total points then is Active Ranking Points don't account for completed games.

Player Rank
There are 9 ranks whose name and point ranges you can customize.

Note: Currently when deleting a game, AutoTroll doesn't add the deleted game's points for the players in that game. In general, don't delete games from AutoTroll. Once you mark the game with a "completed" status, just leave the game and directory so AT can continue to refer to it and use that game's data.

Player Class

By taking all the players and sorting them by their ACTIVE (not total) Ranking Points we can assign a player "class". The class is based on the their Active Ranking Points, so applies only to current games. A player class measures how well a player is doing compared to other players in current games. It is not biased by players who have just played in more games and have accumulated lots of points.
STANDARD
WHITE
BRONZE
SILVER
GOLD

The classes are assigned by percentage on a 90/80/70/60 split. A GOLD player is one in the top 10% of players playing.

Note: There is also a "commit level" setting on the player's tab. This was never used and is an open variable.
