Addons Overview

The Addin Manager allows you to add host add-ons like The Q or host utilities like TrollMapper ( a free utility to create a custom map. You can download it from our site at http://www.sharenet.com)

The list you create here will be available in the game configuration page so that you can easily add add-ons or run your favorite utilities for a game.

Programs with a configuration program
If the addon/utility has a config file then click this box. An example when you might use this is a 3rd party universe generator or game report writer, or maybe a score program with a setup file. Or this could be an addon like The Q that has its own configuration file. Basically, when you're setting up a game and you choose this addin, all AutoTroll will do when it sees this checkbox checked is to run the filename you specified in the "EXE / Program name" field and include the parameters passed in the "Parameters / Options" box. It will run the program assuming it resides in the game's host directory. The type of program this runs does not matter.

Choosing Host Files for the addon
If there is no config/setup program, which is more likely for host add-ons, you can click what host file(s) the program belongs in. If, for example, you have an add-on that has it's commandline in auxbc.ini file like a popular add-on "Sphere", then you would set it up something like this :

Notice the AuxBC.ini is checked, so that when setting up a game if you choose to add this program, AT will know to only add it to the auxbc.ini file.

Notice also the [game.dir] in the Parameters box. The Parameters field recognizes all template variables. If you added this to a game, then in your auxBC.ini file AutoTroll would paste something like :

sphere.exe c:\progra~1\Autoro~1\host\game1\ 1000 3000

Note:
The data for the addins is in a file called "ataddins.dat". I've set up a few utilities already in the Addin Manager that you can either keep or remove if you like. Some of the addins I've set up are located in the utilites directory.
